Preparing for and adjusting to the birth of a child can be a challenging process. As the non-gestational parent, there are struggles unique to this positionality that are often experienced in addition to this transition.
Join us for a peer-led space devoted to connection with other queer, non-gestational parents. Here, folks are invited to share the full spectrum of experience whether it be struggle, celebration, seeking guidance, or all of the above.
Here are some common questions/themes we might explore:
- Navigating pregnancy after a challenging conception journey
- Navigating postpartum after a challenging birth
- Concern about parenting role
- Parenting within polyamorous dynamics
- Navigating frustrations around comments regarding your relation to your child
- Fear of not feeling or being seen as a legitimate parent due to not having a biological connection or due to not being in a heterosexual dynamic
- Concern about connection to kiddo being less than or different
- Navigating unsupportive extended family
- and more!
