DJLX
Founder of DiaspoRADiCAL Soundscapes & Birth Bruja Resident DJ An Aquarius born in central Zimbabwe, DJLX's (he/him, they/them) parents gave him the name “Alexander.” This name quickly morphed into “Zanda” before he could even spit his first bar to a beat. It’s safe to say they've been in love with music—from anywhere and anytime—for as long as they can remember.
Growing up in Zimbabwe, listening to the radio, they wanted to be the person responsible for the tune selection… while making the chicka-chicka (scratch sounds). A dream which was realized as a freshman in college. He took up the name “DJLX” and dedicated himself to digging for the juiciest, thought provoking, and titillating sounds. DJLX is on a quest to decolonize the airwaves so that we can all get a beat to spit our bars on. DiaspoRADiCAL Soundscapes is an expression of this work.
